Ontbijtsessie: Goed bestuur voor (familiale) kmo’s – 2026

Explore practical governance for SMEs over breakfast in Sint-Niklaas on 9 December 2026. Voka’s session covers advisory boards, outside perspectives and better-informed business decisions, with time for networking.

About this event

Who challenges a business owner’s decisions when most of the working day is spent keeping the company running? This Voka breakfast session looks at how smaller and family businesses can add useful outside perspectives without losing their entrepreneurial character. On 9 December 2026, Jan Oosterlinck of BDO Belgium discusses governance that matches a company’s scale and circumstances. The announced topics include advisory boards, choosing the right people around the table, the contribution of external directors and practical mistakes to avoid. Voka also introduces its 2027 governance and family-business offering, followed by questions, coffee and networking. Owners, successors, directors and shareholders can use the morning to consider whether their current decision-making arrangements provide enough challenge and support. The benefit is a starting point for asking more specific questions about an advisory board or external expertise, alongside conversations with other business owners. The session runs from 07:30 to 10:30 at Voka’s Waasland office, Kleine Laan 28, Sint-Niklaas. Admission is free with registration and is also open to non-members, with up to three participants per company. Attendance is confirmed by email. Notify Voka by the day before if you cannot attend: a late cancellation or no-show may incur a €75 fee per person, excluding VAT.
